Adoptable Polaris Rescue Malamutes
This page is updated and current as of 6/24/2009.
Not all dogs that are available at Polaris Alaskan Malamute Rescue are pictured
here. Also, some of the dogs listed here may have already been adopted. We try to
update our listings weekly. Please call us for the most up to date list of available
Malamutes. All of the dogs are up to date on all shots, and neutered or spayed.
Sometimes we also have Malamute Mix dogs available for adoption. If you might be
interested in one of these dogs please visit our
Malamute Mix page.
Some partners we work with have malamutes for adoption too. Please
note that these dogs are not affiliated with POLARIS in any way, but we
do want to provide notice that these dogs are available for adoption too.
For more information click here.
If you are interested in adopting a Polaris dog (either one that is listed here
or one that may not be), please fill out our
adoption application.
Juniper
Juniper is a fun, loving neutered gray & white tall male (about 90 lbs.)
who is independent and playful. He is friendly with people, but may be
aggressive with other dogs. He requires a lot of exercise, consistent
training and an owner who will be a strong leader. He's good in an
only dog setting.
Juniper is looking for his forever home. If you are interested
in giving him that loving home please fill out our
adoption
application.

Kona and Duke
Kona and Duke are a well matched pair that get along beautifully.
They were surrendered separately, but have bonded as they have been
fostered in side by side kennels and exercised together. They are
both used to decent sized yards (3-5 acres) for running and will keep
the right owner entertained. They look like twins (in size, coloring
and temperament) with few differences.
Both dogs get along great and are good companions. A solid 6 ft. fence
(min.) is necessary - preferably hot wired.
Kona (right) is a 2-3 yr. old spayed female who is a lanky, lean grey and
white - about 80-90 lbs. She is an active one, bounds when she runs
and is very happy. She is food motivated (easy to train) and adores
people. She was with a neutered St. Bernard in her original home.
Duke (left) is a 3-4 yr. old neutered male who is a lanky, lean grey and
white - about 80-90 lbs. He too is active, loves running and is dog
social - has been OK even with a neutered male previously. If left
alone (with no other dog) he will jump 6 ft. fences and try to escape.
He has been an indoor/outdoor dog.
Kona and Duke are looking for their forever home. If you are interested
in giving them that loving home please fill out our
adoption
application.

Nanook
Nanook is a loving, affectionate 6 year old gray & white 115 lbs. female. She was surrendered
due to the owner feeling the dog was too large for a young child. She is playful, loves people
and gets along with medium-to-large male dogs. She walks well on lead. She knows a few commands,
but will most likely need some basic training. She does not do well with cats and will try to
escape when left alone. She has shown she is food aggressive. Nanook is currently located on the
Western slope - Won't you share your home with this friendly girl?
Nanook is looking for her forever home. If you are interested
in giving her that loving home please fill out our
adoption
application.

Domino
Domino was a stray who has captured the hearts of all who meet him.... He is about 18 mos.
and small for a mal: weighs 50 lbs., is neutered and is current on shots. He was dropped off
at a rural location and found his way to the local school and was adopted by the school children.
After placing an ad in the local paper and not getting a response, Domino is being given the
chance to find a new home. He does well on lead and looks to his caretaker for direction.
He is affectionate, playful and dog social. He has spent time with border collie pups and gets
along well. Domino does best when not alone - he has succeeded scaling a 4 ft. high fence when
abandoned...he would do best with a companion. Would be a great playmate for a husky and his
size would be closer for pulling with one. - How can you resist him?!
Domino is looking for his forever home. If you are interested
in giving him that loving home please fill out our
adoption
application.
