Adoptable Polaris Rescue Malamutes
This page is updated and current as of 1/30/2012.
Not all dogs that are available at Polaris Alaskan Malamute Rescue are pictured
here. Also, some of the dogs listed here may have already been adopted. We try to
update our listings weekly. Please call us for the most up to date list of available
Malamutes. All of the dogs are up to date on all shots, and neutered or spayed.
Sometimes we also have Malamute Mix dogs available for adoption. If you might be
interested in one of these dogs please visit our
Malamute Mix page.
Some partners we work with have malamutes for adoption too. Please
note that these dogs are not affiliated with POLARIS in any way, but we
do want to provide notice that these dogs are available for adoption too.
For more information click here.
If you are interested in adopting a Polaris dog (either one that is listed here
or one that may not be), please fill out our
adoption application.
Kona and Duke
Kona and Duke are a well matched pair that get along beautifully.
They were surrendered separately, but have bonded as they have been
fostered in side by side kennels and exercised together. They are
both used to decent sized yards (3-5 acres) for running and will keep
the right owner entertained. They look like twins (in size, coloring
and temperament) with few differences.
Both dogs get along great and are good companions. A solid 6 ft. fence
(min.) is necessary - preferably hot wired.
Kona (right) is a 2-3 yr. old spayed female who is a lanky, lean grey and
white - about 80-90 lbs. She is an active one, bounds when she runs
and is very happy. She is food motivated (easy to train) and adores
people. She was with a neutered St. Bernard in her original home.
Duke (left) is a 3-4 yr. old neutered male who is a lanky, lean grey and
white - about 80-90 lbs. He too is active, loves running and is dog
social - has been OK even with a neutered male previously. If left
alone (with no other dog) he will jump 6 ft. fences and try to escape.
He has been an indoor/outdoor dog.
Kona and Duke are looking for their forever home. If you are interested
in giving them that loving home please fill out our
adoption
application.

Aurora
Aurora is a very pretty. sweet, 5.5 yrs. wolf gray & white spayed female
who recently lost her mate. She has not been around many other dogs
or people. She is used to being in a large (1/2 acre) outdoor fenced
area and pen, but enjoys going on walks and shows gentle human
interaction. She guards her space (snaps) with new dogs and will need
some time to socialize with a male, but an experienced malamute owner
should be able to work with her on it. She will need house training
and regular exercise, but once accomplished, should be a good, loving
family companion.
Aurora is looking for her forever home. If you are interested
in giving her that loving home please fill out our
adoption
application.

Chinook
Chinook is an 8 yr. old male white and black woolly who loves interacting with people. His owners
trimmed him and the fur did not initially grow back. He was tested to check medical concerns and
the vet was unable to find anything to link to the fur loss. He has recently been kept outdoors in
a kennel and the fur is starting to grow again. Chinook is not good with other male dogs, but has
been ok with non-dominant females. He seems to like small dogs and has initiated play with cats.
He is neutered, weighs 102 lbs. and loves interacting with people. He has had an event where there
was a responsive snap (non aggressive) with a young child (at mouth level) while he was on the alert
for a potential predator, so a new home without young childrenwould be best.
Chinook is looking for his forever home. If you are interested
in giving him that loving home please fill out our
adoption
application.

Dakota and Zoe
Dakota and Zoe have been together for 4 yrs. or so and get along very well. There have only been a couple of
possessive scuffles (typical sibling yelling matches) in their years together. They are great buddies. They
have been living in a small house with small yard setting. The owner seeks to re-home these dogs to an adopter
who has adequate room for the pair and allows them proper exercise. They are not high level activity
dogs - they just would benefit from some space. Dakota is typically the "boss." Both have had exposure to
newborns and do very well. They also would do fine with families with 8-10 yr. olds and/or older - they adore
human interaction. The two bonded dogs would love to find a new home together....
Dakota (right) is a spayed, 60 lbs. 7 yr. old wolf gray female malamute. She is low key, but enjoys daily walks.
She loves people and will "woo-woo" to communicate with you. She is social dog outside the home, but will respond
when new dogs are brought to the house.
Zoe (left) is a spayed, 120 lbs. 4 yr. old red & white female St. Bernard. She is excitable and eager to please.
She enjoys her daily walks and likes nothing more than to "love on you"... Zoe can be a bit hesitant, but enjoys
attention.
Dakota and Zoe are looking for their forever home. If you are interested
in giving them that loving home please fill out our
adoption
application.
